Home Sweet Home

I admit I was a little adventurous hooligan when I was a young boy. I was about the age of 8 when I became a member of the Secret Tree House Club which was created by my cousin and my two neighbors. My neighbors' had  a tree in  their backyard with sturdy branches and was relatively low to the ground. This became our clubhouse! We had designated branches. My branch was to the left side with multiple mini branches sticking out. I remember I would always stand because of the ants and critters! This tree house provided a sense of belonging and power in a way. I was given my own branch of the tree which meant something to me.

I also remember the sweet nectar or this plant that surrounded my house and neighbor's house. It had pink stems and pedals. We carefully pulled the stem and on the inside tip would be a drip of sweet nectar. It was a nice little treat and we would eat like a hundred! Who needs ice cream trucks!?

I miss the good old days with my neighborhood buddies! Back when we didn't stay inside on Facebook or text each other when to hang out. Back when we would knock on doors and ask "Hey is Cody home?" We would play cops and robbers on bikes, kickball, and dodgeball! Those times were my highlights of my childhood in my neighborhood.

"What to do with this leftover bread.Hmmmm. Let's go feed the ducks!", said my mom. So that's what we did. We grabbed about a half loaf of bread and went to the canal out back. A hungry quacking clan of ducks were hanging around. I quickly ripped off bits of the whole wheat bread and threw up! They quickly scrambled with their beaks munching! I was young and ecstatic!
